Corn fried rice ingredients.
  • Corn: Fresh corn gives this fried rice the best sweet and juicy texture, but frozen or canned corn works too.
  • Green onions: Use plenty of green onions, scallions, or spring onions for color, freshness, and flavor.
  • Oil: This recipe uses sesame oil, but you can use any neutral or flavorful oil you like.
  • Butter and soy sauce: Butter and soy sauce are such a delicious combination. Butter adds richness, while soy sauce gives the fried rice a savory Japanese flavor.
  • Rice: Rice with less moisture works best for fried rice. If you are cooking fresh rice, use a little less water than usual. Leftover rice or thawed frozen rice is also great because it is drier and easier to stir-fry.
