In a frying pan, add water, mirin, soy sauce, dashi powder

Add sliced onion and simmer until tender.

Add beaten egg.

Tamago Don (Japanese Rice Bowl Recipe with Egg)

- 1 Medium frying pan 22 cm, 8.7 inches
Ingredients
- 1 Onion, 3.5 oz
- ½ Scallion
- 3 Eggs
- ½ Cup Water
- 2 Tbsp Mirin
- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- ½ tsp Kombu Dashi powder
- 2 servings Cooked Rice, 10oz, 300g
Instructions
- Prepare vegetables: Slice onion thinly and chop scallion.
- Beaten egg: In a small bowl, crack the egg and beat it.
- Simmer onion: In a medium frying pan, add water, mirin, soy sauce, dashi powder, and sliced onion and boil over medium heat.
- Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes or until the onion is tender.
- Add egg: Gently pour the beaten egg into the pan and continue to cook until egg is cooked through.
- Serve: Place the cooked rice in a bowl and place the egg mixture on top. Add chopped scallions for the garnish.
