We took a day trip to Shimada in Shizuoka Prefecture to visit KADODE OOIGAWA, a large food and experience park where you can learn about and enjoy Japanese green tea. If you love green tea, it’s a fun place to explore!

Things to Do at KADODE OOIGAWA

What We Did

  • Chose from 16 varieties and brewed our own green tea at Green Tea B.I.Y.
  • Became tea leaves and learned how green tea is made on the Green Tea Tours.
  • Poured our own green tea from a tap at Tea on Tap.
  • Enjoyed matcha soft-serve ice cream and other green tea sweets.
  • Visited Kadode Station on the Oigawa Railway.

  • Enjoy meals made with local ingredients at the restaurants and cafés.
  • Let the kids play at the Chamekke Kids Park.
  • Relax in the outdoor areas or take your dog to the dog park.
  • Join seasonal events and workshops.
