What reminds you of autumn where you live? In Japan, this little craft captures the feeling of fall and everything we love about the season!

Welcome to From Japan with Flavor! This is where I share unique Japanese foods, historical food culture, food trends, and whatever I’m currently exploring—all straight from Japan!

I recently bought this adorable washi paper craft, a collection of tiny autumn vegetables, and wanted to share a little glimpse of Japanese fall with you!

These pieces perfectly capture the season: bright orange persimmons, sweet potatoes, chestnuts, shiitake mushrooms, and fallen leaves. Each one represents a favorite fall flavor, and the soft texture of washi gives them a warm, handmade feel.

I’ve placed this little display on my table by the window to enjoy the short but beautiful autumn season. What does fall look like where you live? I’d love to hear about it. Share in the comments below!
