These natto and edamame fritters are quick and easy appetizers. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive! Even those who aren’t usually fans of natto will enjoy them!
Prepare the Edamame: Remove the edamame beans from their pods and set aside.
Mix the Base: In a bowl, combine the natto, its sauce, and the edamame. Stir well until evenly mixed.
Add the Flour: Add flour to the bowl and mix thoroughly until it forms a sticky batter.
Cook the Fritters: Heat a thin layer of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the pan and cook for about 1 minute on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Transfer the fritters to a plate and enjoy!
Notes
Natto fritters can burn easily, so keep an eye on them and fry just until lightly golden.
For a flavor twist, add a pinch of curry powder, shichimi togarashi, or garlic powder to the batter.
For dipping, serve with mayonnaise, ponzu, or a mayo–soy sauce mix for an extra burst of flavor.
