Prep the Ingredients: Tear lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Soak the dried wakame in water for about 5 minutes, then drain.
Bring to a Boil: In a saucepan, combine the lettuce, wakame, kombu dashi powder, and 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Simmer: Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1 minute.
Season and Serve: Turn off the heat, add soy sauce to taste, and stir. Serve in a bowl and enjoy!
Use Japanese dashi powder, or substitute with vegetable bouillon if the dashi is not available.
Try adding green onions, carrots, sesame oil, beaten egg, tofu, or toasted sesame seeds for extra variety.
