We always have this blueberry smoothie on Sunday mornings(green smoothie on weekday mornings). Prepare with kids, drink together, and then slowly start cooking breakfast, my favorite day of the week.

Ingredients for Blueberry Smoothie

We are gonna need only 4 ingredients.

  • Blueberries
  • Bananas
  • Soy milk
  • Water

When blueberries are in the season, please go get them. Otherwise, frozen blueberries are always handy.

How To Make Blueberry Smoothie

The steps is super easy. Just one step.

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

If your blender has a smoothie button, just press it.If not, continue blending for about a minute until you don’t see any chunk.

The color will change over time, so pour it into a glass and drink it as soon as possible.

Tweak to your taste

Adding more water makes it a light smoothie, and adding less water makes it a thick smoothie. Jut tweak the water to your preference.

Add some avocado : If you like the creamy smoothie, putting 1/4 avocado is a good idea. That would make you so satisfy.

Add some lemon : If you squeeze a wedge of lemon, the sourness will give it a nice punch and come out so delicious.

If you consider buying a blender for smoothies, I recommend a high-powered blender.

There are two choices, Vitamix or Blendtec.

Blendtec has more horsepower, but both are powerful enough to make a smoothie.

While Vitamix has a dial to adjust the speed, Blendtech has preset buttons such as soup and smoothie, so just press the button and start blending.

The Vitamix comes with a stick called temper. If the food get clogged, you can push it down with it. You can also use it to make a smoothie bowl (less water and something like a pudding).

When it comes to choose blender, the size is also important element. Vitamix is ​​tall and large and on the other hand Blend Tech is more conpact.

There are many small differences, but you can choose either one if you just make a smoothie. If you want to make raw sweets or smoothie bowls then you should choose Vitamix with temper.

The Reason I chose Blendtec

When I was looking for a blender, I spent a lot of time on comparing both Vitamix and Blendtec and eventually I picked Blendtec.

The reason is

  • The height is just perfect on our kitchen counter
  • The design is simple
  • It’s cheaper than Vitamix

Vitamix is too tall for our kitchen counter and Blendtec is smaller and I like the simple design.

I use Blendtec every day for 6 years and it doesn’t give me any troubles so far. The initial cost was high but I think a high-powered blender is totally worth buying.
