Are you looking for a napa cabbage recipe for dinner? This Japanese napa cabbage miso stir fry is just perfect for you. It's an easy recipe and authentic miso flavor level up your dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/8 Napa cabbage (300g)
  • 1/2 Green onion
  • 1 Atsuage (170g)
  • pinch of Salt (season for atsuage)
  • 1 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Tbsp Sesame oil

Miso sauce (mix them beforehand)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients: Cut napa cabbage into 1 cm widths and slice green onion diagonally. Cut Atsuage in half of the thickness, cut into strips, season with salt, and coat them with flour.
  2. Pan fry Atsuage: Add sesame oil to a frying pan, cook the Atsuage on medium heat for a few minutes until both sides are crispy, and then take them out to a plate.
  3. Stir Fry vegetables: Add the white part (the hard part) of napa cabbage and green onion to a frying pan, stir fry quickly, add a little water, cover, and steam for 3 minutes.
  4. Stir fry vegetables: Add leaves of napa cabbage and green onion, stir fry quickly, cover and steam for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add miso sauce: Put the atsuage back in, add the mixed miso sauce, and stir.

Notes

  • Equipment: Frying pan 22cm/8.6 inch
  • Storage: It will last in the fridge for 3 days.
  • Substitute: You can substitute potato starch or corn starch for flour. Carrots, spinach, bean sprouts would be great, too, instead of green onion.
